Somática (2019)
Performance based on the study of the body and its relationship with anatomy and its possible kinetic connections with a wearable sculptural artifact, which invites us to reflect, investigate and experience the possible amplifications and projections of the movement of the body in the space it inhabits, through volumes, folds and lengths, in order to materialize, observe and think about the body as an expansion and communion with the environment and other bodies.
In this piece, the relationships between body and space are materialized through a wearable built based on the architectural principle of tensegrity. Tensegrity is a structure formed from components in discontinuous compression and continuous tension, which means that body architecture is composed and energized from the discontinuous, understanding of bones in continuous tension of muscles and tendons. The construction of the wearable device, makes it possible to give meaning to the object as an interface between space and body. Somatics develops from the dialogue of the wearable artifact, the body in movement, the space it inhabits, and small feedback and resonance sound devices.
